Portage, MI Died Monday afternoon February 25, 2008. Clayton was born July 12, 1920 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Samuel and Mary Archbold Gray. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Army as an instructor in ordinance. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with National Water Lift for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a member of Bethany Reformed Church and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allen Dale Gray; and 2 sisters, Yvonne Marunycz and Margaret Stenger. On December 13, 1941, he was united in marriage to Marjorie R. VanDyke Gray who survives. Also surviving, a son, Gary Allen Marlene Gray of West Palm Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the Bethany Reformed Church or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
