Of Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday evening, November 4, 2012. Clasiena was born March 23, 1919 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Anthony and Bertha Vermeulen VandeWerken and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was a charter and Golden member of the F.O.E. Auxiliary Post 526 where she served as Past Madam President; and was a charter member of the Past Presidents Club. On September 10, 1938 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, John Morrison, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1983. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, an infant brother, Burt, and Nicholas and Anthony VandeWerken. Surviving are her children, Gene Luci Morrison, Nancy Bob White, Byron Dawn Morrison; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Entombment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 12-2pm prior to the service at the Westside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
