Portage, MI Died Monday evening October 15, 2007. Clarice was born December 24, 1918 in Cane Valley, Kentucky a daughter of Ervin and Cora Whitlock Keltner. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since the 1930?s and was employed with Sears for 27 years before retiring. She was a member of Portage United Methodist Church and volunteered with the Bronson Vicksburg Ladies Auxiliary and the Portage Senior Center. She also enjoyed sewing and piecing quilts together. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ellsworth E. Emig on September 29, 1982; a son, George Emig; and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by 2 children, Daniel Sharon Emig of Bozeman, MT and Marilyn Edward McCarter-Davis of Portage; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Emig of Olla, LA; 8 grandchildren, Eddie, Peggy, Julie, Susan, Laura, Jennifer, Carsten, and Carrie; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Oreta Morris and Helen James Montgomery, a brother, Robert Anita Keltner, 2 sisters-in-law, Ethelean Keltner all of Columbia, KY and Mary Keltner of Banning, CA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special neighbors. A memorial service will be held 11 o?clock Saturday at the Portage United Methodist Church, 8740 S. Westnedge Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Portage United Methodist Church, Michigan Heart Fund, or the Alzheimer?s Association.
