PETERS, Clarence T.H. "Pete"
of Portage Passed away Wednesday morning, September 7, 2011 at his residence. Clarence was born September 1, 1916 in Hartley, Iowa the son of Christ and Lillie Newkirk Peters. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was employed with KVP/Brown Paper Company for 33 years. On December 10, 1943 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Eloise Dimond, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandsons, Paul Evans and Jimmy Hatfield; sons, Paul and Dale Peters; and a brother, Bob Peters. He is survived by his children, Gloria Jim Hatfield, Mary Jim Evans; grandchildren, David, Danny, Kristina, and Timothy Hatfield, Peter and Hope Evans; great-grandchild, Morgan Marie Evans; and several other great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 o'clock Monday in the chapel at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
