Formerly of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2012 in Atlanta, GA. Age 79 years. He was born in Chicago, IL on November 14, 1932, the son of the late Howard and Opal Howell West. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked for Service Master of Kalamazoo for 12 years. Surviving are the mother of his children, Frankie Tucker of Griffith, GA; his children, Larry Donna Howell of LaGrange, GA, Clarence C. Sharon Howell, Jr. of LaGrange, GA, Angela Howell of Griffith, GA, Carmen Dave Davis of Fayetteville, GA, Raymond Howell of LaGrange, GA and Kenneth Howell of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Harold Chris West of Lawton, MI, Ronnie West of Gilbert, AZ, Jenell West of Kalamazoo, MI, Teresa West of Kalamazoo, MI, Wanda Lewis of Kalamazoo, MI and Wylene Willy Penn of Hinesville, GA. A memorial service will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where friends may visit with the family from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Clarence Howell Jr.
