CANUTE, Clara E.
Kalamazoo, Michigan Passed away July 8, 2008. Clara was born September 22, 1917 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Mills and had lived in Kalamazoo for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. On January 18, 1936 she married Robert C. Canute, who preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded by her parents and a son, David B. Canute. Clara is survived by her children, Robert J. Marjorie Canute of Delton and Yvonne John Pitcher, of Marysville, WA; 5 grandchildren, Randall J Shannon Canute of Galesburg, Laura Mike Kinkema of Portage, Tim Mary Pitcher of Lynden, WA, Mike Kim Pitcher of Covington, WA and Christa Martin Schulz of Everson, WA; 7 great grandchildren, Ashlee, Adam and John Golden-Canute, Sarah & Louis Kinkema and Alyssa & Ryan Pitcher; one great great grandson, Acadian Layne. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no further services are planned. Prior to Clara entering Plainwell Pines Nursing Home, she had lived at Gull Arbor Senior Living in Richland, where she received excellent care from Debbie Modert and the entire staff.
