Of Portage, Michigan Christopher David Shaw passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008. Chris was born April 12, 1966, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Roger and Sheila Hughes Shaw and has been a Kalamazoo area resident since the mid 80's. He received his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from WMU. Employed for the past 13 years with Rockwell Automation, he was recently promoted to sales manager. Chris was a member of the Kalamazoo Valley Family Church and also attended the Lake Center Bible Church. Chris was passionate about nature and was currently serving as a board member of Two Rivers Coalition. Surviving are his children, Mikayla and Keenan Shaw of Vicksburg, MI; his parents, Roger and Shelia Shaw of Park City, UT; his fiancée, Rachel Vochaska and her children, Caleb and Isabella Vochaska all of South Haven, MI; his sister and brothers, Michelle Shaw of Park City, UT, Andrew Amy Shaw of Commerce Township, MI; Steve Karen Shaw of Park City, UT and Michael Shaw of Park City, UT; nieces and nephews, Isabella, Aidan, Halle and Chase Shaw; his grandmother, Anne Shaw of Lutz, FL; the mother of his children, Jodi Shaw of Vicksburg, MI; and many other special family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22 from 2-4 PM and 5-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 23 at the Lake Center Bible Church 805 E. Osterhout Rd with Pastor Greg Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in South Portage Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Chris' memory be directed to Kalamazoo Valley Family Church Building Fund, Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, or Lake Center Bible Church.
