Gobles, Michigan Chris died Monday evening, July 7, 2008, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Chris was born June 26, 1952 in Lansing, Michigan a son of Richard and Wilna Link Whitford. He had been a Gobles area resident for 31 years and was employed with Georgia Pacific for 28 years. On August 21, 1971, he was united in marriage with the former Sandra Kahl who survives. Also surviving are: 2 children, Tanya Norman Davidson of Petoskey, MI and Kristi Shaddy Rophael of St. Petersburg, FL; 4 grandchildren, Shawn Steinman, Ramsey Young, Halli Davidson and Amira Rophael; father, Richard Louise Whitford; mother Wilna Whitford; 2 sisters, Linda and Janelle; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1:00 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment in Genesee Prairie Cemetery will follow services. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Nature Center or to Metro Health Hospital. www.langelands.com .
