Chris A. Bishop, age 48, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Kalamazoo. He was born on May 1, 1967 in Plainwell, MI a son of Douglas and Sarah (Yff) Bishop. Chris was a genuine soul whose rare forms of honesty and humor made him one of a kind. He enjoyed being outdoors and anything to do with cars. He was a man of many talents, self-sufficient and steadfast in his character. He was a loyal husband and father who cherished his son greatly. He will finally be at peace, but will be missed by so many who loved him. Chris was preceded in death by a sister, Ginelle Bishop. On July 7, 2010 he married the former Kimberley Lambe, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jordan Cody; parents, Doug and Sarah Bishop, eight siblings, Ryan (Cathy) Bishop, Bradly (Lisa) Bishop, Lane Bishop, Tracy (Nate) Van Ovrloop, Margaret (Jordan) Schipper, John (Jessica) Bishop, Nelle (Rich) DeMeester and Austin Bishop; father- and mother-in-law, Ron and Lina Lambe; brother-in-law, David (Mandy) Lambe; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Chris's family will receive guests on Friday, April 22nd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 2 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
