LEAVITT, Charmaine Dee
of Kalamazoo Passed away March 17, 2010 at home. She was born May 2, 1930 in Kalamazoo, to the late James and Laura Ramp Leavitt. Charmaine was an avid animal rights activist who supported many causes to that endeavor. She also loved to write as shown by her membership with a Kalamazoo's writers group. She loved Elvis and her favorite Elvis impersonator was Doug Church. Surviving Charmaine are many cousins; friend and caregiver, Daniel DeVries; and her four cats, Bobby "Kennedy", Franky "Sinatra", Dollie "Parton", and Mickey "Mouse". Arrangements are by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Burial has taken place at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
