Portage Passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2008. She was born February 23, 1920 in Badger, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Cecelia Lindquist Stewart and was a lifelong resident of Portage. From 1945 until 1963, she and her husband, George, owned and operated the Channel Store. She devoted her life to raising her children. Charline was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; a daughter, Susan Kay Kibler in September of 2007; two brothers, Delbert Stewart and Paul Stewart; two sisters, Pauline Richards and Eleanor Barnard. Her survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George, III and Nancy Kibler of Kalamazoo; three grandsons, Kyle Erica , David and Travis; a sister-in-law Dorothy Stewart of Kalamazoo; a special family friend, Delbert Miles; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. on Sunday from 3-5 PM. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM in the Portage Central Cemetery with Rev. Fred Betcher officiating.
