Of Quincy, MI Passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Age 55. Charles was born in Kalamazoo on August 14, 1957, the son of the late Charles Raymond Matrau Sr. and Betty Lou Myers Matrau. He attended Grace Fellowship Church. Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing guitar hero, poker, and bowling. He was married to Charlotte Sinclair Matrau; she preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his fiancé, Joyce Marie Thrasher of Kalamazoo; his children, Charles R. Matrau III of Kalamazoo and Dawn Michael Matrau of Alabama; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Penny Swindell of Kalamazoo; Daniel Josie Matrau of Kalamazoo, Cindy Michael Myers of Kalamazoo and Ralph Pamela Matrau of Kalamazoo; his step-mother, Sandi Matrau of Howard City; step-sisters, Cheryl Mark Corey of Howard City and Noreen Fuller of Howard City; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at First Free Will Baptist Church, 630 Moline St., Comstock, MI 49048. Memorials may be made to Grace Spring Bible Church in Richland.
