Galesburg Passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at her home. Caroline was born February 5, 1946 in Augusta, the daughter of Thomas and Genevieve Torrey Blodgett and had lived in the Galesburg area for many years. She worked at the Dollar General store in Galesburg for several years as a cashier. On July 24, 1965, she married Gerald Pierman, who preceded her in death on October 28, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, David Blodgett and a sister, Mabel Blodgett. Caroline is survived by her children, Gerald Pierman, II, Michael Pierman, Thomas Pierman and Brenda Pierman all of Galesburg; her grandchildren, Gerald Pierman, III, Aaron Soule, Timothy Maxwell, Samantha Pierman, Owen Pierman, Audley Maxwell and John Kettle, Jr,; a great grandson, Gerald Pierman, IV; a sister, Shirley Morrison of Galesburg; a brother, Thomas Blodgett of Gloucester, VA; nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. with Rev. Whitney Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Galesburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the family.
