Carole passed away, December 7, 2023 with her son and daughter in law by her side.
Carole was born on May 13, 1939 in n Chicago, IL to the laye Joe Grant and Frances Gornick.
Carole lived for her music from an early age. An accomplished Lyric Soprano, she studied at Western Michigan University and the Chicago Conservatory of Music. She showed great promise performing on the Ted Mack show in New York City and with many big bands at venues such as the Chez Paris in Chicago.
Carole married the love of her life, Joseph Cagle, with whom she had 2 children, Kimberleigh and Harold. Choosing Motherhood over a career in Opera and the performing arts. She became and remained a single mother, after the passing of her beloved husband Joe, in June of 1968.
Carole was an avid bowler and still performed concerts until the late 1980's. She was very active in her childrens activities including Scouting and Sports. She never re-married, choosing to raise her 2 children alone. She was very giving of her time to anyone who needed it, and active in charitible contribution with the American Heart Association, March of Dimes, and Muscular Dystrophy. She was a truly good person.
Surviving Carole is her son, Harold, and his wife MaryAnn Cagle. Preceding her in passing are her parents, Husband, Joseph, and her daughter, Kimberleigh Cagle.
In accordance with Carole’s wishes, cremation will take place with burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery. There are no services scheduled at this time.
