Carol J. Poolman

POOLMAN, Carol J. Of Portage Carol passed away Tuesday July 17, 2007, at her home following a lingering illness. She was born January of 1933, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Chester and Ruth Owen Snyder and has been a lifelong resident. On December 17, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert ?Bob? Poolman. For over 40 years of her life, she was employed in medical offices in the Kalamazoo area. Carol loved to travel and had traveled extensively to 48 states plus with RV Club friends. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was an avid miniature and doll house collector. The most important part of Carol?s life was her family. Surviving in addition to her husband Bob; are her three sons, Scott Cathy Poolman, Brian Lori Poolman and Kevin Susan Poolman; five grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, Andrew, Jessica and Mark; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Emma and Brendon; brother-in-law, Richard and Marcia Poolman; and her beloved Bischon, ?BJ?. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Portage Chapel with Pastor Timothy Seeber officiating. Entombment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Mausoleum. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials in Carol?s memory may be directed to the St. Jude?s Children Research Hospital.
