LOHER, Carol M.
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 16, 2010. Carol was born August 12, 1932 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Harold and Henrietta Houtman. Carol was a lifetime devoted member of North Park Reformed Church where she dedicated many hours of service. Prior to her retirement she was employed for several years with JCPenney. Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including her grandchildren's various sporting events and activities. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling, and doll collecting. On November 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, James Loher who preceded her in death on November 3, 2007. Surviving are her children, Douglas Janna Loher, Donna Richard Thomas; 4 grandchildren, James Danielle Loher, Teresa Michael Clark, Robert Loher, Sheri Jeff Switzer; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Samantha, Mike, and Jonathan; 3 brothers, Jack Diane Houtman, Paul Shirley Houtman, David Kathy Houtman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at 10:30 Friday at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Rd, with Pastor Paul Fazio officiating. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2:00pm. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference, the Alzheimer's Association, or the charity of your choice. www.langelands.com
