Carol Anne Johnson

Carol Johnson, 81, of Richland, MI passed away peacefully on August 28, 2024 surrounded by family members.

Carol was born in Dayton, OH on January 19, 1943. She graduated from Brookville High School in 1961 where she was active in the band, chorus, plays and numerous clubs. She went on to obtain a nursing degree in 1964 from Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing. Carol spent 20 years in healthcare before opening her own personal shopping and event planning business in 1984 – a’la Carol. With her business of 37 years, she found her passion in turning her clients’ dreams for their special day into reality.

Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Roy Johnson, parents; Allan and Jane Renaker, and sister; Joyce Campbell. Carol is survived by her children; Carla Herbert (Zylkia), and Troy Johnson (Kim); grandchildren; Nick, Gabe, Craig, Justin, Lauren and Kayla; brother, Steve Renaker, as well as many other family and friends.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, “Gogie” to her grandchildren and friends. She loved spending time with her family – supporting grandchildren’s events, hanging out at the pool and celebrating holiday traditions. Carol and Roy shared a love for French Bulldogs. Their joy for breeding dogs touched the lives of many families. Carol also enjoyed playing cards with friends, shopping and adventures to Las Vegas.

A Memorial Gathering will take place in Carol’s Honor on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009. The Memorial Service will be held at the same location, the following day, Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11am.
