Of Kalamazoo Passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010. Carol was born August 24, 1943 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Louis and Caroline Dolhay. In 1965, she was united in marriage to Richard L. Converse and they raised five children in the Vicksburg area. Later they moved to Portage and wintered in Florida. Carol worked in the food service department at Western Michigan for several years and retired in 2001. Surviving are her children, Kathryn Michael Decker, Mark and Matthew Converse, John Tracy Converse, Elizabeth Gary Hallam; 8 grandchildren; sisters and brothers, JudyJack Lem, Susan Mike Birkhold, Richard Dolhay, Steven Sue Dolhay, John Patti Dolhay, Joseph Dolhay; sister-in-laws, JoAnne Dolhay, Carol Converse; and several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; devoted husband, Richard; a brother, Robert Dolhay; sisterin-law, Tammi Dolhay; and nephews, Todd Lem, Timothy Birkhold, and Mark Nation. There will be no visitation. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Director's Hall, or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
