Carol Annette Clapp was born November 11, 1933, to Glen and Hilda Odor in Rembrandt, Iowa, and entered God‘s eternal glory on November 27, 2024. She had two sisters, whom she loved dearly, Delores (Mcgrew) Odor and Lenora (Paterson) Odor.
The majority of her childhood was spent in Salem, Oregon and Rembrandt, Iowa. Carol shared many stories of working in the orchards and farm fields of those communities where she learned the value of hard work. That work ethic followed her through her entire life.
While working in Omaha Nebraska, Carol met Howard Clapp. They married on June 25, 1954, and shared 70 years of marriage until his passing in July 2024. Shortly following their marriage, they started a family and had six children, Michael (Tonya) Clapp, Twila (Jerry) VanSpronsen, Reginald Clapp, Kent (Mary) Clapp, Roland (Lee) Clapp and Mark (Lori) Clapp.
Carol was a wonderful homemaker who worked hard to make a home for her family. She could and would cook anything Howard brought in from their pleasure farm, sew and knit masterpieces, and grow a garden that she would freeze, can and put up for later.
Carol‘s love for her family was second only to her love for her savior, Jesus Christ. Mom ensured all her children knew the path to salvation. She loved and invested in all of her 19 grandchildren and loved to have them over to play Uno and fill them full of plenty of hot chocolate and treats. She also traveled to as many church programs, school events and sporting events that she could and, although she never understood football, sat through many games to cheer her grandkids on.
In their retirement years, she and Howard loved to travel the US in their motor home spending time and visiting with family across the country.
In her final years, Carol suffered with dementia and, as a family, we have been saying goodbye to our mom and grandma for years now but find joy and comfort in the knowledge that she is now restored by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, her daughter-in-law, Lee and grandson-in-law, Stu Krolikowski.
