Of Kalamazoo, MI Carl died unexpectedly at his home on Friday morning, March 30, 2012. He was born March 24, 1930, in Bryant, AL, a son of George W. and Bessie Sims Price. On a trip to visit his cousins in Tennessee, Carl met Lillie Kathleen Blevins, who asked him to a movie. The name of the movie is not remembered but their life together began that day. On January 26, 1951, Carl and Lillie were married and celebrated 61 years together this year. Carl and Lillie moved to Kalamazoo where Carl first worked for Kalamazoo Steel Processing and later worked for Alloy Heat Treat in Gobles. Carl's main work however was serving the Lord. He studied and worked hard to become an ordained minister and has served as the pastor of Freedom Baptist Church in Mendon for the past 20-plus years. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and several of his siblings. He is survived by: his wife, Lillie Kathleen; five children, Carl Osborn Linda Price, Jr. of Walker, MI, Robert Patricia Price of Portage, JoAnn Pyburn of New Hope, TN, Thomas Glen Dyrinda Price of Schoolcraft and Georgia Elaine Michael Tully of Mattawan; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Jo Price, Buddy MarthaPrice and Caroll Jean Price; a sister, Elberta Cline; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Monday today at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Services will held 1:00 Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Burnett of 12th Street Baptist church, officiating. Burial in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South will follow services. Memorials should be directed to Freedom Baptist Church.
