Portage/Vicksburg, Michigan Passed away at home with his loving family by his side, on Saturday, September 20, 2008. He was born July 26, 1924 in Parchment, MI, a son of Charles and Harriet Olivet Miller and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo area. Carl was a retired Kalamazoo County Deputy Sheriff and a Portage businessman, with businesses on Portage Road. He loved going to his cabin, fishing, hunting and his Ford tractors. On February 20, 1942, he married Josephine Litten, who preceded him in death on March 7, 1996 after 54 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Carl is survived by his sons, Roger Delores Miller of Galesburg and Wayne Pat Miller of Dallas, TX; his devoted partner, Mary Lou Aloisio of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Carl's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
