MEISLING, Carl A.
Portage MI Passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Carl was born August 2, 1945 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Arthur and Lucina Korth Meisling and was a lifelong resident of the Portage area. Carl graduated from Portage Central High School in 1963, served in the Army Reserves for 6 years and was employed by The Upjohn Company for 30 ½ years as a sheet metal fabricator. He was a member of the Paw Paw Conservation Club, the NRA and loved fishing. Carl was an avid beagler, raising and training beagles for competition. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Tassell Meisling; his children, Amy Brian Zigler, Eric Meisling and Krysten Veenhuis; two grandchildren, Troy Campay and Ryan Zigler; his brother, Terry Lynn Meisling of Portage; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel 411 E. Centre Ave on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. A committal service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery, South. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Kalamazoo SPCA.
