Portage, MI Died Wednesday morning September 9, 2009. Carl was born December 28, 1951 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Robert and Marian Ladd Hisey. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Checker Motors for 36 years, retiring in 2008. He was preceded in death by his father. On May 20, 1971, he was united in marriage to Vonni L. Finch Hisey who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Becky Dick Slade of Scottsdale, AZ, Jenny Donnie Bannister of Kalamazoo, and Kristy Hisey of Portage; 11 grandchildren; Todd, Valerie, Carly, Kellen, Casey, Caitlin, Jaxson, Kameron, Aydon, Wyatt, and Jade; his mother, Marian Wayne Welch Ladd of Battle Creek; a sister, Kathleen Greg Fici of Scotts, MI; 5 brothers, Robert Hisey of Kalamazoo, and Edward, Shawn, Timothy, and Nick Hisey; his mother-in-law, Helen Finch of Kalamazoo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may meet the family 11-12:30 Sunday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Private burial will take place at a later date.
