Kalamazoo, MI Died Wednesday afternoon November 12, 2008. Carl was born April 13, 1920 in South Bend, Indiana a son of Forrest and Gladys Yeagley Frederick. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Fred J. Hotop Plumbing and Heating for many years before retiring. He was also a member of the St. Michael's Lutheran Church and the Portage Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his children's mother, Dora Gressley; his wife, Betty M. Frederick; 2 brothers, Eugene and Forrest Jr.; 2 sisters, Geraldine and Elizabeth; and a grandson, Todd Potratz. He is survived by 4 children, Ralph Janet Frederick of Three Rivers, MI, Paula John Johnson of Portage, Becky Roger Wagner of The Villages, FL, and Gerald Marcia Frederick of Portage; 3 step children, Bill Jerry Fries of Vicksburg, Sharon James Linnemeier of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Faye Fries of Portage; 7 grandchildren; several step grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Deane Sue Frederick of Kalamazoo; 4 sisters, Virginia Parker of Grand Rapids, JoAnn Guarisco of Portage, and Mary Garrett Dykehouse and Mardelle Pozeznik all of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Tuesday at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Drive. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private graveside services will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. Michael's Lutheran Church School Scholarship Fund.
