Brooksey F. Allen

Brooksey Faye Allen, age 74, died on January 21, 2024. She was born on September 28, 1949, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Charlotte Allen. Brooksey was a special girl. She was independent throughout her whole life until recently when she moved to the Laurels of Coldwater. Brooksey worked hard at caring for her home and kept it neat and clean. She was known in the community and was referred to as the “the lady with the babies”. She loved her baby dolls and would take them for daily strolls. Brooksey loved vibrant colors and red and blue were her favorite! She also loved pets and smiled when she saw any animals. She enjoyed listening to the radio, especially country music, and watching TV. She was always a proud woman and rarely asked for assistance. 

Brooksey was well loved by her guardians and those who knew her. Sadly, in 2020 her fiancée Poncho preceded her in death. 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo, 49007, with Rev. Jim Dyke officiating.
