Brinton passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 24, 2016 at the age of 25. He was born on October 11, 1991 in Oak Harbor, WA, a son of Mikael and Roberta (Newman) McKinstry. Brinton attended Gull Lake Community Schools and graduated from the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy. He entered the US army in 2009 and was discharged in 2010. Brinton is survived by his father, Mikael (Karen) McKinstry of Richland; mother, Roberta Newman of Elmendorf, TX; five siblings, Loren (Catherine) McKinstry, Kaisle (Becca Cummings) McKinstry, Sarah (Jonathan) Clow, Dan Stollings and Katherine (Brad) Fiegel; grandparents Loren and Ann McKinstry; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Brinton was preceded in death by grandmother Sandrea Thomas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 Monday morning, October 31st, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, where services will be held at 11:00 with Pastor Michael Brown, officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
