WELLS, Bonnie L.
Of Kalamazoo Bonnie Lee Wells, age 75, died Oct. 17th, 2010 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo following a long, courageous bout with lymphoma cancer. Born May 27, 1935 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Orson and Lucille Peterson, she attended State High School, and Western Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She was an avid gardener and an active volunteer with the Flower Guild at First Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member. Bonnie was an active member of Loyalty Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star where she served many years as an officer and a volunteer with the dinner committees cooking and serving meals for various Masonic organizations. On February 15, 1958, she married Dale K. Wells, her husband of 52 years, who survives along with their children: Jeanne M. Nuyen, Steven L. Wells, and William Greg Wells with wife Crystal and granddaughter Cheyenne. Also surviving are her twin sister, Sandra Emmert, brother-in-law Bill Perrin, nieces Debbie Emmert, Judy Doug Vliek, Peggy Chuck Vliek, Sally Jeff Tomlinson, and nephew Jim Perrin and their children. Preceding her in death were her parents and sister, Barbara Perrin. Memorial services for Bonnie will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church, 315 West Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church Endowment Fund, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or Loyalty Chapter #497 - O.E.S.
