Formerly of Kalamazoo Gene passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at his home in Moulton, AL. He was born February 3, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the son of William and Anna Rogers Shrout. Gene was owner of Allen Sales in Comstock and later G&W Lounge in Leesburg, Florida. Surviving are his wife, Willodean Fuller Shrout; 1 son, Michael; 1 brother, Douglas Phyllis Shrout of Comstock; 5 sisters, Louise John Hudson of Comstock, Frances Ralph Simpson of Kalamazoo, Mary Dale Scott of Galesburg, Tiwana Jake Pullin of Comstock, and Virginia Dick Bearsdley of Clarkston; 1 granddaughter; 1 great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Gene will be at 11:00 AM on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in Comstock Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
