Billy “Bill” Thomas Hart, age 92, was born on July 25, 1931, in McDaniels, Kentucky. He passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, with his daughters, Terri Mucciante and Sally Bentley, by his side.
Bill was the youngest of five children born to Guy O. Hart and Margaret M. (Glasscock) Hart. He was proceeded in death by his parents and all four siblings: John H. Hart, MollyBelle Hart, Bonnie W. Beard, and Ruby G. Biggam.
Grandpa Hart is survived by grandchildren Terri (Ben) Turner, Sarah Bentley, Richard (Brooke) Spaiser, and Thomas “TJ” Bentley; great-grandchildren Olivia, Aiden, Jack, Ashlee, Violet, Kingsten, Maddox, and Gage.
Bill developed a talent for mechanics at a very young age. He received a new bicycle as a gift from his sister, MollyBelle. He then ordered a Wizard motor, which he mounted to the bicycle. At 12 years of age, he rode the motorized bicycle alone from McDaniels, Kentucky, to Dearborn, Michigan, to visit his sisters. Shortly afterward, his mother joined him in Dearborn, Michigan, where they used his rabbit sale money to buy a house. He graduated from Dearborn High.
A man of many talents, he was never bored and always had a good project going. Bill worked for Ford Motor Company in the steel mill, and after a few years, decided to open a Marathon Gas Station on Mason Street in Dearborn, Michigan. He also built custom race cars for driver “Pinky Pinkston” and was commissioned by Ford Motor Company to design custom parts.
Later in years, he left his hometown of Dearborn, Michigan, and moved to Bickford of Portage, an assisted living home, to be closer to family.
On his tenth birthday, July 25, 1941, Bill was presented with a Bible from his parents to commemorate the acceptance of Jesus into his heart. This special Bible was used to read Psalm 23 upon his passing.
In lieu of flowers, we simply ask that you remember our father and smile. Most importantly, make sure that your heart is right with Jesus. Terri & Sally ❤️
