Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008. She was born April 11, 1922 in BattleCreek, one of four daughters born to William and Harriet Tait Judd and had lived in Kalamazoo for many years. Billie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was employed by Western Michigan University for over 25 years, where she was an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Graduate Studies. On June 23, 1950, she was married to James Russell Donoghue, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1985. She was also preceded by her parents, and two sisters, Jane Leisenring and Bea Lasher. Billie is survived by her children, Carol Ray Frye of Ann Arbor, Susan O'Donoghue Earl Grabowski of Albuquerque, NM, and Stephen Debi Donoghue of St. Joseph, MI; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Leisenring of Battle Creek; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Louis Grother officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm.
