Beverly J. VandeVorde

Passed away Monday afternoon, April 8, 2024. Beverly was born July 18, 1933, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Gilbert and Hildred (Mathias) Simmonds. Before retirement Beverly worked as a loan officer at First Community Federal Credit Union in Parchment. Bev enjoyed volunteering at Parchment Northwood Elementary School, line dancing, and spending time with family and friends. On June 25, 1954, Beverly was united in marriage to her loving husband, Richard VandeVorde, who preceded her in death in February of 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son, Curt VandeVorde; daughter, Lynne Kealy; brother, Lowell Turner; and sister, Katherine Rypkema. Beverly is survived by her children, Lori (Chris) Rivard, Scott (Lisa) VandeVorde, Julie Prentice (Neil Biek); daughter-in-law, Pam VandeVorde; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Sharp; and several nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Private interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery in Richland.
