Beverly Ann MacNellis

Beverly Ann MacNellis, age 82, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at her home.

Bev was born on October 13, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Harold and Lucille MacNellis. 

After graduating from Fordson High School in 1959, Bev went on to Western Michigan University, where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She received her Master’s in Education from Wayne State University. Bev taught art in the Detroit area for 26 years and was involved in promoting the arts and strengthening the State Teachers Union. 

Bev retired as a teacher and moved to Estero, Florida, where she dedicated much of her time to community projects. Bev dearly loved being a part of the Rotarians and often talked of projects and social events she was involved with in the Estero area.

Bev loved art and decorated her home with paintings, sculptures, and remembrances of her travels through our western states, Egypt, and China. 

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 900 Ford Avenue, Wyandotte, Michigan 48192.
