Of Portage Passed away Monday December 9, 2013. Beverly was born April 14, 1937 in Mattawan the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucy Horton Crawford. She was employed with the Sprinkle Rd Laundry and also worked for several years with Portage Public Schools. Beverly was given the nickname "Gert" and enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. On November 13, 1964 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Carl, who preceded her in death on March 8, 2005. She was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Paige and Jimmy. Beverly is survived by her children, Bruce Locker, Christine Regner, Robert Eastman, Rayne Shafer, Carla Steve McNeil; 10 grandchildren, Levi, Danielle, Leigh, Chad, Dustin, Mitch, Tyler, Kimmy, Taylor, and Trent; a brother and sister, Daniel Dorothy Crawford, Dorothy Jack LaCoss; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 13 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Friends may meet the family Friday from 10:00 until the time of service. Interment will follow services in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
