Of Kalamazoo, MI Passed away Saturday morning, August 15, 2009 at her residence. Beulah was born May 10, 1917, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Robert and Carrie Berry Moran and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Faith Chapel Ministries. Beulah was a true homemaker with family as her main focus in life. The pride of taking care of her home and family; serving in many capacities throughout the years including Den Mother, Boy Scouts and chaperoning school events. On August 16, 1941, she was married to Fred Manley Flegal, who preceded her in death on October 27, 1999. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carolyn Flegal. Surviving are her three children, Ronald June Flegal of Hawaii, Donald Janet Flegal of Arkansas and Marilyn Higgins of East Lansing; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister Ruth Hibbard of Dowagiac. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22 from 1-2 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. where a service to celebrate Beulah's life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday with her niece, Rev. Betty Smith officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials in Beulah's memory may be directed to Borgess VNA Home Health and Hospice Program.
