Of Kalamazoo, MI Went to Heaven on Saturday, June 29, 2013, surrounded by her family, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence at the age of 86. She was born in Kalamazoo on August 5, 1926, the daughter of the late, Albert David and Lavina Welcher Kloth. She was employed by Sears and then worked for Upjohn as a Sterile Filling Operator, retiring in 1991. She enjoyed sewing, collecting and making dolls and her family photo albums. She was married to Jacob J. Van Sweden on July 18, 1944; he preceded her in death on May 10, 1991. Together they raised four children, Louise Richard Wesseling of Schoolcraft, Lewis J. Van Sweden, who preceded her in death, William Jo-An Van Sweden of Grand Junction, Betty Jean "BJ" Bob Galbraith of Kalamazoo; eight grandchildren, Kristine Jeff Sieber, Richard Wesseling, Laura Paul VanAmeyden, Kimberly Chris Fazio, William Katherine Van Sweden, Anna Bill Brock, Christopher Galbraith and Kaleigh Galbraith; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her special nephew, James Kloth; and her brother and sister, John Kloth and Shirley Kloth. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 and from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Pastor John Hill will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
