Portage, MI Passed away Friday morning April 27, 2012 at her residence. Betty was born December 18, 1924 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Andrew and Florence Milham Hartoog. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was a member of the Portage United Methodist Church. For 19 years, Betty loved spending winters in Phoenix with her husband and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 61 years, Roy R. Roeder on January 8, 2010. Betty is survived by two children, Mike Roeder and Kathy Roeder both of Portage; three grandchildren, Kristy Joe Herman, Ryan Denny and his fiancé, Lauren Pawlak, and Erik Denny and his fiancé, Melissa "Missy" McIntosh; two step granddaughters, Tara Davin Ojala and Kelly Scott Kovalska; a brother, Andrew "Jack" Delores Hartoog of California; a niece; 4 nephews; and several cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Wednesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
