QUENTZ, Betty Jane
Of Portage Betty passed away early Saturday morning, October 9, 2010 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born March 02, 1922 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of John and Hazel Steadman Dykstra and remained a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. On April 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Quentz, who preceded her in death on August 3, 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, John "Jackie" Dykstra Jr.; one sister, Helen Williams; and one granddaughter, Taylor Quentz. Surviving are two children, Michael Quentz of Portage, Nancy Warren Jeffery of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; two grandchildren, Tara Heskett of West Point, NY and Katie Jeffery of Hoboken, New Jersey; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, and Joseph Heskett; two sisters, Marilyn Williams and Marcia Darcy; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Quentz will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road M-96, Augusta. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kalamazoo Humane Society or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
