of Plainwell, Michigan Died Friday morning June 8, 2012. Betty was born September 22, 1934 in Decatur, Alabama a daughter of Ira and Ethel Vest Cheatham. She had returned to reside in the Kalamazoo area in 2002, coming from Camp Verde, AZ. Betty was employed with the City of Chicago, Senior Services for 10 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Heather, grandson, Ronald and a niece, Shelly. Betty is survived by 4 children, Gary Offet of South Dakota, Kimberli Offet of Kalamazoo, Kris Randy Cutler of Plainwell, and Konne Greg Scott of New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, Harold, Barry, Jimmy, Blake, Randi Anthony, Ethan and Rachel, 3 great-grandchildren, Cierra, Kenna and Rhyan; a sister, Linda Dennis Hickman of Florida; and their children Dennis and Vicky. Family will welcome visitors for a celebration of life held on Friday, June 22nd from 1:30 - 2:30 at the Life Care Center of Plainwell, 320 Brigham St. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were made by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.
