Betty Mary Hope

HOPE SCHAU, BETTY MARY Betty Mary Schau Hope passed away February 3, 2013 in The Villages, Florida. She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Marshall G. and Cecile M. Nichols Schau. Betty graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and Western Michigan College in 1951. She taught school in Portage for over 16 years at Pershing and Haverhill schools. Betty was a lifetime member of the Mother Church, the First Church of Christ Scientist, of Boston, MA. Preceding her in death where her parents; a sister, Norma Jean Kilgore and a brother, Marshall G. Schau, Jr. Betty is survived by her husband of 72 years, Robert A. Hope; her only daughter, Linda Mary Hope Sawall and her husband Robert; two grandsons, Robert Sawall and his wife Noreen, Mark Sawall and his wife Daniela; six great-grandchildren, Corey, Lachlan, Sierra and Shawna Sawall, Mike and Max Dion. Private graveside services were held Saturday, February 9th at Hope Cemetery, Texas Corners.
