CLYMER, Betty J. Kalamazoo Mrs. Clymer passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, October 28, 2006 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo following a brief illness. She had been a resident of The Laurels of Galesburg for the past 8 ½ years. She was born January 1, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio, the only child of Walter and Hazel Pack Hammer. On November 27, 1944, Betty was united in marriage to John K. Clymer, who preceded her in death on November 6, 1974. Also preceding her in death was her very special companion, Harold Towne. Betty?s survivors include: two daughters, Cheryl Cummins Westbrook and husband Dale Westbrook, and Linda VanBruggen Nendorf, both of Kalamazoo. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or services. Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband at Riverside Cemetery. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Kairos Dwelling.
