of Kalamazoo, Michigan Bette passed away Thursday evening, September 13, 2012 at Upjohn Community Care Center. She was born March 21, 1924 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Ralph and Grace Ritsema Bonnema. On September 4, 1943, Bette was united in marriage to Royal "Perky" LePert, who preceded her in death in 2000. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Judith LePert in 1974; one son, Jay LePert in 1999; sister, Grace VanderPloeg and one granddaughter. Surviving are her three children, Merle Terry LePert of Clairmont, CA, Sharon Jeffrey Hitchcock of Kalamazoo, Diane Chris Schipper of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law, Darlene LePert of Plainwell; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Bette will be at 2:00 PM on Monday at Hope Reformed Church, 910 Jenks Blvd., with Rev. Kent Frens officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 3-5 PM on Sunday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Private interment will be in West Cooper Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hope Reformed Church or Alzheimer's Association.
