Augusta Passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008. She was born February 23, 1920 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Vernon and Vera Howland Linderman and was a longtime resident of the Kalamazoo area. Bette was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, member of the Portage VFW, enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and dancing. On June 23, 1941 she married John Nap and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2004. She was also preceded by her parents and a brother, Robert Linderman. Bette is survived by her children, David Nap of Augusta and Robyn Turner of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Christine Girardin, Catherine King, Colleen Goupille, Brian Nap, Michelle Soos, Michael Veld, Danny Grigsby and Tommy Grigsby; great grandchildren, Joanna, Nicholas, Kyle, Spencer, Rudy, Dustin, Shayla, Hunter, Melana'e and Mirranda; great great grandchildren, Allyson and Ella; a brother, Theodore Linderman. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Rev. Sandra Elfring officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or the American Cancer Society.
