WOODS, Beth L. Portage Passed away Friday, March 30, 2007. Beth was born July 20, 1916 in Marcellus, MI the daughter of the Rev. Marian Lamont and Florence Eugenia Andrews Roberts and had been a lifelong resident of the area. She was a former member of the Eastwood Church of God and a current member of the Portage Free Methodist Church. While in the Eastwood Church, she was very active since 1945, serving as Chairman of Children?s Committee, singing in the choir, Church School teacher, member of the Woman?s Groups and various committees. Beth had worked for the Gilmore Department Store for 17 years, and had retired in 1981 as Sales Manager in the Maple Hill Store. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Burl Woods in 2003; her son-in-law, Jerry Whelan in 1989; and her 4 brothers, Otis Roberts, Donald Roberts, Jerald Roberts and Fay Eugene Roberts. Beth is survived by her son, Thomas R. Sharon Woods of Portage; her daughter, Sally Whelan of Portage; her grandchildren, Marcie Lee Latham, Kenneth Tracy Whelan, Kevin Angie SchultzWhelan, Philip Woods and Drew Woods; her great grandchildren, Heather Whelan, Elizabeth Latham, Zack Latham, Chelle Latham, David Whelan, Daniel Whelan, Jerry Douglas Whelan, Steven Whelan and Todd E. Whelan; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. with Pastor Tonda Forsman officiating. Interment will follow in the Vicksburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to Warner Camp, 60 55th Street, Grand Junction, MI 49056.
