Bertha G Rose

ROSE, Bertha G. Of Kalamazoo Passed away Saturday afternoon, December 23, 2006 at the Kairos Dwelling. Bertha was born March 4, 1918 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Herman and Nellie Jager Meints and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was the co-owner of the R.W. Rose Sales and Service for many years. Bertha was a lifelong devoted Christian, and was a member of the Kalamazoo Bible Church in which she was very active. She enjoyed helping people, which showed while doing volunteer work with the Red Cross, Borgess Hospital, and the Gospel Mission. She also enjoyed needlework, crocheting, and traveling. On December 18, 1937 she was united in marriage to Robert W. Rose who preceded her in death on April 13, 1979. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Garrett and James. Surviving are 2 children, Carol Jim Drake of Plainwell, Robert L. Darlene Rose of Three Rivers; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters, Robert Meints, Louis Meints, Arthur Meints, Barbara Manning, Laurice Lawson, Betty Schaap; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11:00 o?clock Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. Interment will follow in Comstock Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Tuesday from 2-4pm at the Comstock Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Bible Church, Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, or the Kairos Dwelling.
