Bernice L. Torre

Age 96, passed away on September 13, 2024. Bernice was born in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania on August 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Paul and Alberta (Kurtz) Bubp. Bernice moved from Pennsylvania to Detroit, where she worked for General Motors. She married Rocco J. Torre on January 28, 1956, and became a full-time homemaker to raise her four sons. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed knitting and sewing. Bernice and Rocco moved their home from Clinton Township, Michigan to Higgins Lake in 1993 and became active members of St. Hubert Catholic Church. In 2008, they moved to Kalamazoo to be closer to their family. Rocco preceded her in death on July 22, 2013. Bernice was also preceded in death by her sisters, Luella Lions and Joanna Sherman. She is survived by four sons, Paul (Davin) Torre, Norman (Jeanne) Torre, Joseph (Teresa) Torre and John (Renee) Torre; and grandchildren, David, Adrienne, Mathew, Cameron, Morgan and Kai Torre. A private committal service will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
