SCHOMER-DILLER, Bernice I.
Of New Smyrna Beach, FL Bernice Diller Schomer formerly of Kalamazoo passed away peacefully June 13, 2009 in Cape Coral Florida. Bernice was born May 26, 1911 a graduate of Kalamazoo Central HS and mother of twin son and daughter. She and her husband owned and operated Bun and Bernie's Restaurant in Kalamazoo. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She enjoyed life to the fullest spending time with her family, traveling, boating, fishing cooking and many other hobbies. Bernice married Bernie Schomer who she spent many happy years with until he passed away. She remarried Willis Diller and after his passing spent 17 years with friend and companion Merlin Hilton. Surviving are a son Larry Bobbie Schomer, grandchildren Penny, Tammy Steve, Cindy Ron, Theresa Joe and Paul; 5 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Bernie Schomer, daughter Mary Ann, brother Harold Hammacher and grandson's Brad Schomer and Joseph Zinn. She was a vibrant and loving person who was loved by all who knew her. She will be missed and in our hearts forever. As per her request there will be no visitation. Graveside services on June 19, 3 pm at Riverside Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Bernie Schomer. For those wishing to attend the graveside, please meet at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. beginning at 2 pm.
