Bernice M. Leland, 93, of Scotts Michigan, passed away, Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Born on July 27, 1927 In Mattawan to Matthew (Josephine) Delach. United in marriage on February 21, 1948 to Phillip C. Leland.
Survived by husband of 73 years, Phillip and children; Wendy Catherwood, Tom Leland and Pat Leland. Grand mother of 8 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents; Matthew and Josephine, son Ken Leland and siblings; Rudy Mikulic, Walter Mikulic, Swanee Mikulic, Rose Hathaway, Donna Lange, Jenny Kuki, Julie Kostyra and Charles Delach.
Bernice was a secretary for the Vicksburg Schools for at least 15 years and loved every minute of it. Family was important to Bernice and she cherished the time spent with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Bernice was a poker and canasta player who spent many hours playing cards with her circle of friends. She loved going out to eat, playing golf and doing ceramics. Bernice also liked to travel and lay in the sun with Phillip and their group of friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and she will be forever missed.
Bernice will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw, Michigan. The family would like to thank Hospice of S.W. Michigan and the staff of Rose Arbor for their loving care of Bernice and the Leland family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to: Hospice of S.W. Michigan.
