Portage, Michigan Died Wednesday afternoon April 30, 2008 at his residence. Ben was born July 14, 1933 in Schoolcraft, Michigan a son of Amos and Marjorie Barber Zylman. During the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Army. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Checker Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Betty and Beverly; and a brother, Bud. On September 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Jean Rathbun Zylman who survives. Also surviving, 6 children, Benjamin A. Zylman of Kalamazoo, Debra Jeff Price of Vicksburg, Sue Ellen Zylman of Kalamazoo, Michael Linda Dorgan of Portage, William Denise Dorgan of Allegan, and Rebecca Paul Roberts of Mattawan; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert Mary Zylman of Portage and Bill Cheryl Zylman of Augusta; a sister, Bonnie Allan Garlick of Portage; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 11 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday. Interment will be in Ft.
