Slager, Beatrice Fern
Of Kalamazoo Passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Age 88 years. Beatrice was born in Kalamazoo on February 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Arnold and Mabel Unrath Nicol. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1942. She was married to Marvin Slager in 1946 in Kalamazoo, for a loving 64 years together; he preceded her in death on November 28, 2010. A devoted Christian, she was a lifelong member of Trinity Reformed Church, where she volunteered as the church librarian for many years and was actively involved in other church activities. Beatrice loved spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Linda Bradley Fonger of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Marvin L. Slager of Denver, CO and Vicki James Thompson of Portage; seven grandchildren, Dr. Evan Nicole Fonger, Cullen Kristy Fonger, Andrew Slager, Amy Slager, Shannon Thompson, Chelsea David Guy and Holly Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Fonger and Maddison Guy. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert V. Nicol. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St.,
