HALE, Beatrice L.
Of Galesburg
Passed away November 4, 2008 at her residence. Beatrice was born September 29, 1921 in Rosebush, MI, the daughter of William and Malinda Pontiac Green. She lived in Mt. Pleasant for several years prior to moving to the Kalamazoo area. She was extremely proud of her Indian heritage as a member of the Saginaw/Chippewa Indian Tribe and a granddaughter of Chief Pontiac of the Ottawa Indian Tribe. Beatrice was employed for many years as a Community Health Representative for the Tribes. She was a member of the Church of God Family Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Hale, by her parents, 2 sons Thomas and Kenneth Hale and brothers and sisters, Leroy, Wanita, Bob, Jim and MaryAnn. Surviving are a son, Garry Hale and step-children Marian Norman, Edward Hale and Alice Bleeker; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters, Opal, Violet, Celia and a brother Bruce; many nieces and nephews and a close friend and traveling buddy Charlotte Haggard. Services will be held at 1:00 o'clock Monday at the Church of God, Family Worship Center, 5841 East "H" Ave. with Pastor Edward Davis and Pastor Marvin Followell officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 12 Noon Monday.
